Tech Tips for Business and Education
Thinkfinity.Org - is a free online standards based educational resource site that
is your one stop for teachers, parents, and students. Quality web portal to the
finest of resources for your classroom and engaging activities.

Have you tried Google Earth as an instructional literacy field trip? What about
locating your business?

How about OpenOffice.Org? This is a free open source software that is VERY
similar to Microsoft Office. It is multi-platform, e.g. Mac and Windows. You can
download the software to a CD and give to your students. This software is
completely compatible with MS Office products. For older Macs, go to NeoOffice.

Speaking of Open Source software, SourceForge.Net is my favorite site to keep
up on open source software. With school districts having hard times with budgets,
this is a worthwhile source for research in saving software $$$!

Updated regularly is the AARP Computers and Technology section of their web
site.  Check it out for the latest How to Guides, Hardware, Software reviews.

Great for Business, the best for Educators ... Stay on top of news in Education
with Edutopia.

TechLearning.Com -- another great magazine for 21st Century Teachers,
Technology Leaders and Administrators.  A free subscription is available!

Google Pack is free software through Google and specifically recommended by
Google! I highly recommend: Picasa, a great photo editor with a free online
posting of your own Web Albums.  Now for Macs!!!

Why pay for Anti-Virus programs when Avast is free?  Free for home personal
computers! Excellent pricing for business and highly recommended.
